Our mission is to empower young people through sailing by building confidence, leadership, teamwork, and resilience while fostering a lifelong respect for the sea and creating opportunities for personal growth, competition, and maritime careers.

Building on Bequia's rich maritime heritage, we teach sailing while developing confidence, teamwork, discipline, and leadership. Our programs equip young people with lifelong skills and introduce them to opportunities in the maritime industry.

Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers are passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential. We have a diverse group of individuals with a wide range of skills and experience, all united by a commitment to making a difference in the lives of youth.
With more than 60 years of sailing and racing experience, and having grown up in a youth sailing program himself, John brings a lifetime of knowledge and passion to the Bequia youth sailing program. Committed to safety and teamwork, he enjoys helping young sailors build confidence, develop strong boat-handling skills, and grow into skilled, competitive racers. He also encourages participants to explore the many maritime career opportunities that sailing can open, both locally and internationally.
Darcy brings many years of boating experience, including extensive cruising under sail throughout the Caribbean after sailing with her husband, John, aboard their own sailboat for seven years. Her expertise in marketing, communications, and organization plays a vital role in the success of JSAB. She manages the organization's website, produces the quarterly newsletter, supports fundraising initiatives, and oversees many of the administrative and logistical details that keep the program running smoothly.
JSAB is delighted to welcome Fritz back as a coach for our youth sailing program. Coming from a Bequia family with deep roots in the maritime industry, he brings both local knowledge and a genuine passion for developing young sailors. Respected by the youth for his positive leadership and encouragement, Fritz is dedicated to helping them build confidence, improve their sailing skills, and reach their full potential. He also has a deep appreciation for Bequia's traditional double-enders. Fritz completed training as a coach by St Vincent and the Grenadines Sailind Association..
Juju's dedication to JSAB is evident in his commitment to the program—he volunteered for months before funding was available to support his coaching role. Having learned to sail through JSAB, he understands firsthand the opportunities the program creates for Bequia's youth and is passionate about giving back to the next generation. While Juju is young, he is exceptional with our youth and determined to help develop their skills on and off the water. Like Fritz, he is also trained as a coach by St Vincent and the Grenadines Sailind Association..
A sincere thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers for your generous support. Because of your commitment, our young sailors have the opportunity to learn, grow, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of sailing. Your support in the many ways you give truly makes a difference, and we are deeply grateful for everything you do.
